Learn about proposed passenger rail service between New York City and the Berkshires. Discuss what YOU envision passenger rail service looking like in YOUR community and YOUR region. And get your “Bring Back the Trains!” buttons and cards!

Bring Back the Trains! The Berkshire Regional Planning Commission and the Housatonic Railroad Company are conducting a comprehensive passenger rail station location and design analysis study along the existing Housatonic Rail Line. The primary purpose of this study is to identify potential areas for passenger rail stations along the rail corridor, to study the potential impacts of those locations on the communities and to maximize the benefits of renewed passenger rail service. The initial public meetings will consist of an overview of the project, an overview of HRR’s plan to restore passenger rail service to the Berkshire and small group discussions on a variety of topics related to the proposed restoration of passenger rail service to the Berkshires. Questions? Contact Brian Domina at bdomina@berkshireplanning.org or 413-442-1521 x14.
