Here is Marilyn’s 2012 Lee Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award
Marilyn Kelly was born in raised in the “absolute best place anyone could,” the “little Italy” section of Lee. She graduated from Saint Mary’s School, Lee High School and the former Berkshire Business College in Pittsfield, but credits her real education from working for Jane Fitzpatrick at Country Curtains Mail Order Business.
Marilyn was a founding member of the Lee Chamber of Commerce and served as President. She served on the Berkshire County Board of Realtors, the Hyde Place Board of Directors, Lee CDC Board, The Lee Council on Aging’s Advisory Coun
cil, and the Lee Beautification Committee, and chaired the Lee Citizens Advisory Council. She remains active with the Lee Chamber as Board Member Emeritus, as a Volunteer in the Lee Visitor Information Booth, and Berkshire County’s Bring Back the Trains Committee. She was also Berkshire Business and Professional Women’s 1981 Woman of the Year.
Marilyn commitment to the town of Lee spans decades. Her patience, persistence, and ambition have made Lee a better place to live, work, and visit. She is also the proud mother of 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
